TV Show – Star Trek: Voyager XI

Today, I took some time to focus on movies (Hellraiser, 2022 | Uncharted, 2022 | Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, 2023). Voyager dominated yesterday, except for a little excursion into the Mission: Impossible universe.

So far, the fifth season of Voyager is impressing me, and I’ve skipped a lot less than in previous seasons. By now, the Borg Queen has already made her first appearance. It surprised me because I had to realize that the Borg Queen is played by Susanna Thompson, whom I last saw as Colonel Mann in NCIS. I was amazed and excited at the same time.

There are more conflicts regarding Starfleet regulations, which I find interesting. It often raises the question of whether one could ignore certain rules, as the saying goes, “Where there’s no judge, there’s no executioner!” I like that this is continually addressed. Unfortunately, this sometimes leads to, thankfully only minor, incidents of double standards. Where, for the sake of some storylines, certain things are bent a bit. I don’t like that part so much, even if it serves the drama.

Captain Proton is now also part of the crew, and we’ve even experienced a merging of realities with these holodeck adventures (S5E12).

Tonight, I’ll continue with Episode 16 (Dark Frontier II), and since I can’t remember exactly what happened back then, I’m curious about the outcome. Slowly but steadily, we’re also moving towards “Endgame,” and I’m particularly looking forward to that episode or double episode! But I also know that there will be several episodes with children who are somehow picked up. Although I find the Naomi Wildman episodes quite cute, I might skip a few here and there. I’m just not that big a fan of them!
